As schools return to classes, the safety and security of students remains critical to learning and thriving in the classroom. A threat and vulnerability assessment is a comprehensive examination of a school’s physical facilities and operational procedures for the sole purpose of ensuring the safety and security of students, faculty, staff, and visitors. It is a cost-effective measure that school administrators can utilize in the prevention and mitigation of  a variety of criminal incidents on campus, particularly armed intruder events and terrorist acts. Other threat considerations in an assessment include natural & manmade disasters, extreme weather incidents, and hazmat events. Strategies provided in VSG’s assessments have proven to save lives, prevent/mitigate injuries, and create the secure learning culture desired by students and parents. We also assist in finding solutions that balance optimal security measures with a nurturing learning environment and budgetary allocations. A threat and vulnerability assessment is an invaluable tool in affirming the safety and security of the students, staff, and visitors of your school.

We are an entrepreneurial and independent security consultancy comprised of career professionals with over 95 years combined experience in law enforcement, security, software design, and business management.  Our diverse backgrounds and broad expertise provide us with the acumen to take a holistic approach to the security and protection industries, providing us the means to match our product to your needs.

Approach

We utilize a unique blend of threat & vulnerability assessments, security and protection solutions, software design/development, and process improvement creativity to meet your specific needs. These considerations enable us to implement modern operations that build upon established best practices, while allowing for innovative processes to be applied to your security profile. On-site evaluations, staff & management interviews, crime statistics analysis, and needs assessment are all utilized to identify threats and vulnerabilities specific to your facility. Once identified, we apply both established and innovative solutions to mitigate and/or eliminate those threats. We have the additional capability of conceptualizing and implementing custom designed software, both desktop and mobile, aimed at improving the physical security, training requirements, and emergency actions of your administration and staff members. This allows us to provide you with a unique security and protection model that is both scalable and replicable in this emerging market.
